There are graduate schemes run by many engineering companies and elsewhere. Look at energy & utilities, construction, manufacturing and also pharmaceuticals.
IMechE lists graduate schemes in a number of sectors, including aerospace, automotive, construction/building, consultancy, manufacturing, medical, energy, process and railway.
